Man, what a scene. Even though its her own fault for cheating on Derek, how can you not feel for her when she's crying in the rain?

Only a skilled talented actress can make you feel sorry for her EVEN THOUGH she cheated on her husband. Kate Walsh should have gotten an Emmy for that scene. Brilliant work Miss Lady!

im really glad they gave us this, because it really shows that derek and addison did love each other once. at first addison shows up as the pious bitch who;s all "so you;re the whore screwing my husband?" but her banging on the door in the rain is heartbreaking

that was amazing acting! I definately agree that Kate should've gotten an award :) I mean i know what she did was wrong, but i can help feeling sorry for her and begging derek to give her another chance!

@teammaddison it's still not an excuse to go and sleep with someone when you're MARRIED!! When you get married you make a commitment for better or for worse and til death do you part... people just see that as words nowadays which really bothers me. There were plenty of moments for her to talk to Derek about how she was feeling and to work things out as a married couple, yes he was wrong and yes it IS her fault... they both fucked it up more her than him ofc but "it takes 2 to Tango".

@xxlive2dance They were separated... Derek didn't "cheat" on Addison. Addison also acknowledges that later on when a patient says Meredith is a home racker... Addison says "My husband didn't cheat on me, I cheated on him".

When you want to get a divorce you have to be one year separated first before the judge allows both parties to get a divorce... it would be unrealistic for you to think people don't sleep with other people in that one year separation.

This scene never ceases to make me angry. Kudos 2 Patrick Dempsey 4 portraying the shock & hurt of a man coming home 2 see his wife in bed with his bf. Addison us fresh off of Mark when trying to explain herself & it's just..well it's horrible. Loved Patrick in this scene. When he says "I csn't look at you. I look at you and I feel nauseous" I get it. You just know right there why this marriage is broken for good. What a betrayal. Dempsey as Derek should have gotten an Emmy for this scene.

This honestly always makes me cry it's just one of those scenes . I think especially if you have ever made a mistake or cheated or been cheated on you cant help but empathize to Addie and derek.

its not only Addison's fault! just coz she slept with mark doesn't mean that it is only Addie's fault Derek took the blame in season two from having and abstenince from  it so I am totally on Addie's side for this plus it wasn't right for Derek to go and cheat on Addie with Meredith especially where Meredith didn't even know he was married.

@kitkat9288 I didn't. I have no sympathy for cheaters. There is always an opportunity o talk to your spouse about your feelings and what's going on. Addison was wrong. And I felt to sympathy for her. She broke his heart.
