@2404daphne whoa - has YouTube changed their policy and started allowing links? about time! You're right, that guy's copy is better - but he says "Of the 20 or so sides i've actually listened to so far, this one has got to be the stupidest. Enjoy!" Hey, I'm glad he put this song up, but what's wrong with him? it's not stupid, it's great!
As a kid I listened to this song over and over on a 45 rpm record. I hadn't heard it for at least 40 years, and when I sung a few bars to my wife, she said she'd never heard of it. Full of doubt that I'd ever find it, I looked it up here -- and here it is! Thanks for the fun memories.
@2404daphne I got it on a 45 rpm record at a Salvation Army in Ellensburg, Washington in 1978. It was pretty beat up, but I immediately knew I had an incredible find! Later I bought a 2nd copy off eBay - just as beat up as the first! I don't know which one I recorded this off of. I wish I knew more about these guys - truly a lost classic. thanks for your memories! Glad to help!
YouTube hasn't changed its policy on links. However, there is an easy way to post them. (You must omit the abbreviation for HyperTextTransferProtocol, the colon, and double forward slashes.)
I got to digging some more and found it here with a few less scratches --wopbopaloobopalopbamboom.blogspot.com/2011/01/banana-what-crazy-fruit.html
When I saw the original "Teenerama" label I nearly flipped. You know, those Banana Boys could really harmonize!
