Spalding University is well-known for its innovative programs. While other colleges and universities operate on a two-semester system, in which the typical student takes four or five classes each semester, Spaldings schedule is divided into seven six-week sessions, with one-week breaks in between each session. Our students typically take one or two classes per session. Most classes meet four days per week (Monday through Thursday) for 100 minutes each day, per class. The session schedule provides our students with tremendous flexibility.
Traditional students, taking two classes per session, may complete some degree programs in as little as three years. On the other hand, students who work or have other commitments may take one class at a time. Some students go full-time in some sessions and take lighter loads in other sessions based on athletic seasons, participation in other co-curricular activities, or for personal reasons.
