Many of you guys asked me, how I paint my props and armor. Better: How my husband paints my props and armor. So, I justed recorced it for you and hope this helps you with you own project a bit.
Benni spent about 5 hours for the paint job and used only some acrylics and brushes. And when everything is done I sealed it with a finish. This saves the paint itself and increases the colors. That's the big secret!

Here you'll find a little video where I show you how I fixed my pauldrons of my Druid Tier 9 and Tier 8 costume and in addition you'll see a lot of my Asmodian Gladiator armor fixing. Hope it will help you with your own projects!

  • Wow! This is amazing. Thank you so much for your tutorials. I just have a quick question: How do you affix the gems to your armour? Do you put it in the expanding foam? Or do you put them on another way?

  • @MsStardustFaerie

    You're welcome!

They are mostly fixed with hotglue. This time I glued them into these rings and then fixed the rings with the gems inside at the paudrons.

  • without the time lapse about how long did painting this take?

  • @heartofsteal1001

Uh... I guess he worked for two evenings, each 4 or 5 hours? Well, it was a lot!

  • Thats one patient painter! good work!

I wonder what result one would get if airbrushing was used instead. time to visit wiki i think.

  • @BillyNoMate

We wanted to try it next year!

  • What did you do to make it so smooth? Can you use sandpaper to make it smooth or will it take chunks out of the foam?

  • Half assed.

    Hahaha, you are the best!

  • He's so fantastic when it comes to painting! I just finish building my cosplay weapon and tomorrow I'm painting it. I hope I don't screw it up.

  • Wow! Richtig geil!

  • This is ALL so amazing!! Thank you so so much! I will surely try this for my next cosplay! I have been having difficulties trying to figure out how to do it but I think I get what I can try now. Thank you a ton! You and your husband are truly skilled and I hope to be as good as you both! Thank you again and happy holidays!
