@ubernerd35 Sorry everyone, I was wrong. This is a calculated move on LSV's part. He's holding back oran rief in hopes that he'll get 3 2/2 saproling tokens instead.

Wrong. You keep the Rief open for when it dies... when you get the Sap Tokens you can tap the rief for 3 2/2s instead of 1 4/4.
Boros plays lightning bolts... you have to be prepared for that.

its possible that LSV wanted to use it in case his opponent had bolt in hand (to put counters on the tokens)
