Dresing a granite seam with the Seam Phantom. Step by Step it goes through the process using the Phantom SL3 abrasive system. This is an indispensable tool for Stone Fabricators wanting nearly invisible seams.
If anyone wants to know more about this tool, I would suggest going to the stonefabricatorsalliance forum and talking to actual fabricators that use this tool in their shops every day. If you have questions or concerns with how it works, these guys can give you the info you're looking for. There is also a bunch of information on the nsisolutions website.
@cqgranite We use the Seam Phantom to make 45 miter (euro miter) seams. My shop just did one yesterday. There is a small amount of hand work needed in the inside corner of one side of the seam (basically the last 1/2"). Other than that, the Seam Phantom dresses it all.
@cqgranite Yes, you can get a seam pretty close to what the Seam Phantom will do by hand if you are really good with a grinder. The problem is that you are problably the only one in the shop that can do it. The Seam Phantom makes it easy so anyone can do it. It's all about repeatable results.
@nicoleleighs4 I don't understand how removing chips from a saw cut would be messing with the integrity of the stone. This tool has been sold to fabricators for more than 3 years now and that simply is not an issue.
all i neat is a 100 grip polishing path and a angle grainder and i end up with a seam like that. also i dont think you can use that in a 45 miter seam.

Gotta wonder if that's a bad idea, as far as affecting the integrity of the stone, and messing with machined straight edges?
