I'll take this movie over ANY crappy episode of buttpirates of the caribbean....some of the greatest character actors and visual comedians of the time.....Cleese didn't like it cuz not only didn't he get the lead....AGAIN....but he was killed off early.....all this movie needed was Michael Palin

@GriffinHistorical Doesn't mean he's right. Sure, the movie is a bit rough around the edges, but the characters, comedic acting and writing overshadows any of that.
Also, doesn't take away from the fact that many people rate this movie as the best comedy ever made.
You either get it, or you don't. The comedy style doesn't appeal to everyone, that i can understand.
Personally, this is my favourite comedy.. well, definitely in my top 3 :)

mainly because, aprat from a couple of great moment, it is truly dreadful. Which is very unfortunate considering the effort put in and the talent on screen. John Cleese describes it as 'one of the worst 6 films ever made'. And he's in it!
