CAIR-FL Video: South Florida Muslims Pray for Peace

FT. LAUDERDALE (CBS4) ― (11/6/2009) "A Muslim is mindful of doing the right thing" That was a message at a mosque in North Miami Beach during Friday prayers. South Florida's Islamic Community, like everyone else, is trying to make sense of Thursday's bloody massacre at Fort Hood, Texas, that left 13 soldiers dead. The accused gunman is Army Psychiatrist Nidal Hasan, a fellow Muslim.

At South Florida's Council on American Islamic Relations office, Islamic leaders spent the morning on the phone. "Do a quick prayer about the incident aht happened at Fort Hood, Texas," urged Executive Director Muhammed Malik. He called the shooting a cowardly act.

"It's totally unacceptable in Islam!" he said. "It's totally unacceptable for any person of conscience would condemn that. We condemn that."
