@bulleuston76 Well said mate, there are a lot of vids around saying similar stuff and they have got it wrong . Nutrients do NOT go straight back into the garden. Plants can only assimilate nutrients from organic matter if it is first broken down into soluable nutrients by micro organisms in the soil . As you rightly say the fibrous plant matter will initially REMOVE NITROGEN from the soil . Ask the Royal Horticultural Society if you doubt me.
what you need to do with that is put it in a compost pile until it breaks down. What I do is I make a round cage out of 4 inch square fence. Pile the new material on top of the old until the round cage fills up. When mine gets about 3 foot deep I plant seed potatoes in it and water it. The potatoes grow right out of the compost. When it is time to harvest the potatoes I turn the compost over while I harvest.
Mate this has nothing to do with no-dig gardening, it is not compost and the green matter you have put down will simply pull out all the nitrogen in the immediate top soil to basically try to remain alive...you need to speak to your guru and clarify some things.
