A great movie. A true character study of what people go through when their parents reach a certain age. This movie was made with much sensitivity, a gritty view of reality which in my opinion is heart rendering. The human emotion displayed here is off the charts. Very well done indeed!!

I have mixed feelings about "The Savages." Great acting, good story, but it has an air of pretentiousness about it. Hard to explain, but I feel like I'm watching a writer and director who are imitating Woody Allen.

It is understood by many that Woody Allen is a genus, to tell you the truth I am not too acquainted with his work, so it would be difficult for me to judge. I liked the movie, love would be too strong of a word. So yes there is much to be admired about it in my opinion. It just resonated with me deeply.
