If you enrolled in a summer school history, social studies, rela or English course, you are will be responsible for completing a condensed version of the year-long course.

As a summer school history, social studies, rela or English student you might have requested by now, or your summer school teacher might have emailed you a PACING guide to use as in your summer school course. The PACING guide will have two important tabs for students and coaches to use. These tabs are the Curriculum Tab and the Textual Pacing Guide tabs.

The Curriculum Tab lists every assignment contained in the summer school cyber course.
The Textual Pacing Guide lists only the assessments (quizzes, tests, Odyssey Writer assignments) from the complete curriculum tab list and auto-calculates a set of tentative due dates for each assessment.

These due dates are to be used only as a pacing reference. The cyber student and coach are responsible for completing the course by the summer school deadline regardless of the final assessment due date calculated by the spreadsheet formula. This due date is to be used by those students who are concerned with their course pacing:

"Am I too far ahead?"
"Am I too far behind?"
"Am I right on track?"
"What if I wanted to finish earlier?"

These are questions that can be calculated out by the coach and the cyber student at the moment they have the concern.

This tutorial demonstrates how to make those calculations.
