Iran has successfully tested the newly-developed S200 air defense missile system, during the country's biggest-ever air defense drill. It's capable of identifying and hitting targets at low and medium altitudes. The exercise, which started on Tuesday, is meant to showcase Iran's capabilities in defending its nuclear facilities from possible attack. Iran's been conducting war games every year since 1992, and frequently uses them to unveil new weapons and military systems.

  • Bravo Iran !

    Stay strong and proud !

  • @scalpking47 Don’t hate Jews just detest Israel. What happened 2 them in Europe should never have happened & certainly should never have been repeated. Unfortunately it has with the birth of the Zionist state-for the Arabs. If the Nazis undertook a holocaust so have the Israelis, nothing moral in either case & as for Iran u r right, but didn’t Cyrus liberate the Jews something bout crying by the rivers of Babylon even earned the praise of a Jewish Prophet but then a Muslim can’t be right can he?

  • ........There was a time when I wanted to become a fighter pilot.......now with all the sams systems being developed in the world.....my dream turned into a nightmare.......

  • lol, it's not gonna save them from the U.S. folks. They need to hope ron paul gets in the white house, which isn't very likely.

  • @Suojeluninja

Fair enough. I suppose I just tire of our national debt. I think micro-neutron bombs with JDAM-like modifications would have been the way to go. Maybe use them in conjunction with our conventional arsenal. The way we did it was so expensive and wasteful to both sides. Alert them, allowing them to hide and recruit civvies while we piss off anyone who used to be indifferent...

Not a cleanly done war by anyone's standards.

  • @manictiger

Nukes are distributed into tactical, operative and strategical warheads.

( With strategical ones being more than two megatons. In comparison over 100 times more powerful than the one dropped on Nagasaki. )

So you could say that an tactical nuke was used against an weak strategical target.

  • @manictiger

In other words, leveling a city isn't tactical and 20kt is quite hefty for a "tactical" weapon. Hell, we consider the MOAB to be strategic!

  • @Suojeluninja

Well, it was still used in the middle of a metropolis and used in a strategic way.

Tactics is based on precision, whereas strategy is based on area denial, resource disruption and demoralization. You might outfit all your tanks to look like the second coming of Christ, and that would be strategic. You might give them range-finders to help them hit their targets and that would be tactical.

  • @manictiger

Nope, fortunately only 13 and 20 kiloton tactical nukes. With megaton nukes... Well Hiroshima and Nagasaki might not be blooming cities today.

  • every new zionist threat makes clearer that iran needs nuclear weapons.

  • @roflman87

Those were megaton weapons used on civilian cities.

    That's not "tactical". That's strategic.
