Recorded early in 1931, one of the last English Columbias to be made by the Westrex system [WA] soon to be replaced by Blumlein's moving-coil system [CA]

The first song is from an American movie called Shanghai Lady which is from 1929 starring Mary Nolan and James Murray. The second tune is by Al Dubin and Joe Burke. If I´m not mistaken is was sung by Al Jolson, don´t know which movie, though. Thanks a lot for uploading this nice recording.

I recorded this to my mobile phone and played it to my 16 month old nephew who grinned each time and rocked in rhythm!His mother and grandad were not so interested sad to say!!

Love the tunes but what film or films are they from? American or British films?

@tlt1536 : This is a british recording so i guess the tunes are taken from british movies from the early 1930s. The movie titles are unknown to me, sorry.

Hi, thanks for posting ! On the other side there's only an uninteresting waltz medley. It's the only record of this Medley series i have, sorry ! Maybe another user can offer the other parts....?
