Horses were placed on this earth for a reasons, god didn't just place horses on earth for the hell of it. These beautiful equines are like humans, they have love, talent, and amazing personalities; Just like other creatures. They may sometime's be harmful, but it's life. We all have our ups and downs, but we don't get punished for it, but horses do, they get beat, neglected, abused and unloved.

But lyndsey you know we winned our hearts of our retired throughbreds. <3 & for others, If your horse has a bad day; dont beat your horse, you wouldnt like it if you got beat because you had a bad day or brought to some place for being bad. But horse slaughter isn't just a quick bullet to the head, it's torture. The horses are first hit with a stun gun( 1:10 ) and are then hanged by one of their hind legs( 1:21 ) to be beheaded. It is very brutal.

@bm4nu because they can't afford to feed them either. a feel the people that are keeping the slaughter plants closed are causing more pain and suffering to a horse just because of some peoples emotions. I had a family memeber who kept their dog living for a year. the dog had cancer did nothing but lay around and howl because the pain was so great and they were too selfish to have it put down. sometimes we need to look at what's best fot the animal and make a decission not based on our emotion

I own a ranch and I need horses to run it. I love my horses but, with no slaughter plant here is the problem I face. When I have a horse get lame I refuse to ride it and put it though the pain. Most of the time their injuries heal but every so often I get a horse the steps in a hole and never gets over its injury over several years. I can't afford to feed a horse that Im not using. I have given them to horse rescues only to go back and check on them later and see they are half starved cont.
