  • im getting this train for chrismas lol :)

  • Lucky you!!!

  • Ok I'm very curious. I see that the lead locomotive must be pulling the train. But you also have a cabless booster behind it. Is it a dummy, or something about DCC that I have yet to figure out?

  • The B-unit is a powered loco also, and it has DCC/sound installed to boot. the only difference between the two locomotives is the outer shell.

  • two and two would be plenty, as they are loud.

  • They are still running great.

both locos have the same model decoder in them, but I have had good results matching digitrax decoder equipped locos with rge soung units.

  • Thanks for the quick reply, thinking of getting 2 MRC 1658 for the A units and 2 Digtrax dropins without sound for the B units, or would you recommend ( costwise ) just 1 MRC and 3 Digitrax , the consist will probably be ABBA 95 % of the time .

  • Hi ,love the sound and the layout. Now that you have this decoder for at least 11 months do you still like it and does it work nicely? Also which decoders did you put in the rest of the consist and does that work ? Thinking of putting this in a Super Chief ABBA consist but not all sounddecoders.

  • Wow. Very Nice! 2 questions if you don't mind.

    Which MRC decoder?

Was it drop-in or did it or the engine require modification?

Very attractive layout as well. Thanks for sharing.
