I am in Wisconsin, and I have japanese beetles everywhere, and they have killed several raspberry plants in my yard. I have found one great way to get rid of them:
When a japanese beetle is scared by being hit or something, it will fall from the plant, and often all the way to the ground. You can go around with a bowl of soapy water, and hit them so they fall into the soapy water, and they die in the water.
