@aimeemkerr it was partly the U.S's fault but it was also other countries faults because they stood by too. Obviously Rwanda was split so they couldn't really help themselves, that's why they needed outsiders to help, except we all abandoned africa.

Don't try to blame the US for this- although they stood by while people were killed, which is a horrendously immoral thing to do, how can anyone claim it's their responsibility to save a nation of people bent on killing each other on the other side of the world? If anyone had a real responsibility to save people it was the UN. But the real responsibility lies with those Rwandans who couldn't see that killing innocent people was wrong...let's pray people will understand that life is precious.

The whole continent is poised to go up in flames. How long before smart westerners can claim the land and start taking resources again, c'mon africans get a move on.

let me just say this i don't belong to any ethnic group and never will i
but the fact remains if people don;t put what happened to Rwanda behind them blood will always be spilt. since genocide people have been dying how do you explain that ??
africans open your eyes and don't be fools of selfishness and self centered people try develop your selves and instill love that is the only way out.

Someone should teach these Hutu scum who keep killing a lesson. What is wrong with these people. They are worse than the Nazis. The only way genocidaires should be released from prison is in a body bag. Or just feed them to the dogs like they did their innocent victims.

it wasn't Hutu's fault. Don't blame them..
Tutsi started the fight by killing Havyarimana.
And also, that site doesn't belong to the Tutsi, it belong to the Bantu; who are the Hutu n' Twas

One'd better not trust a racist like you.
Bahutu constitute between 80 and 90% of the population and disregarding/oppressing them AGAIN will only reignite the hatred.

History Repeats itself
Tutsis must not trust hutus, hutus will plan murders again after some years
Actually, the general suspicion is that Hutu exremists fired the missile that shot down Habyarimana's plane (but no one knows for sure), so you're statement was misinformed. And even if someone "started the fight," how does that justify genocide? I will blame those who hacked to death over 800,000 innocent people with machetes, no matter what instigated them to do so.

Ur not entirely off but the Rwandan case is a bit more intricate: Many Hutu's and Tutsi's intermarried since pre colonial times. There were also many cases of Tutsi changing to Hutu and the other way around, depending on how they how their economic status changed and where they lived on the hill. They all speak Kinyarwanda and have the same names and surnames. The conflict had more to do with cleavages entrnched in society due to class/status :)
