Almost every culture has developed a story about heaven, earth and hell. Variations on Heaven and Hell is a series of performance pieces that explore various legends and stories, mixes metaphors and ideas to show similarities and disparities between the cultures while at the same time presenting a holistic vision of the relationships between heaven, earth and hell. The Nosferatu Variation remixes footage from the classic 1922 film by Murnau with a live musical performance and dance choreography to cast the infamous vampire in a sympathetic light. Conceived and composed by Ritsu Katsumata, performed with Hugo Claudin, percussion; Rachel Finan, choreographer/dancer; Stafford Smith, videographer/video projection.
As opposed to the accustomed perception, the shinto religion if read clearly is a mono-thiest religion much like semite belief. It however portrays the cosmic naturals, the earth, the sun and the moon in an incredibly passionate tale of color, lust and vigor. I can totally vision this performance under torches and moonlight in a mountainous shinto shrine somewhere north. It may even clear the atoms in the air.
I have a cool sis.
