The grand piano mics had to be placed nearly inside the instrument to avoid picking up all the percussion going on. Your stuff was next to Giovanni's five congas; two exceptionally long and powerful shotgun super-directional mics, set up as a spaced pair over Giovanni's head (3ft) were used to capture Giovanni's set up. Your stuff was more complex , requiring many more mics due to the nature of your multi-instrumental setup. Great gig men, really good vibe, eclectic band and lots of sabor.
