Taken from 1989's "Headless Cross" and features Brian May of Queen on the guitar solo

He saw the world, dim with the glow of the vertical sun
His skin crept cold knowing that this was the hours of dying
Misguided mortals, you'll burn with me
Spirit of man, cannot be freed.

When Death Calls - This is the hours of dying
When Death Calls - The spirit of man cannot be freed
When Death Calls - There's no tomorrow
When Death Calls - Just an evil shadow

Tell me not fear of the flames means that heaven is closer
For I believe Satan lives, in the souls of the dying
Misguided mortals, you'll burn with me
Spirit of man, cannot be freed.

When Death Calls - Heaven is closer
When Death Calls - Feel the heat of the flames from the souls of the dying
When Death Calls - here it comes, here it comes, here it comes
When Death Calls - You're gonna burn

Don't look in those sunken eyes
Don't look and you'll stay alive
Don't laugh at the face of death or your toungue will blister
Can't die until Satan says you die
And Satan takes your soul
In the face of death or your toungue will blister

Don't look in those sunken eyes
Don't look and you'll stay alive
Don't laugh at the face of death or your toungue will blister
Can't die until Satan says you die
The Devil takes your soul
With all his wrath he calls the reaper

When Death Calls - This is the hours of dying
When Death Calls - The spirit of man cannot be freed
When Death Calls - There's no tomorrow
When Death Calls - Just an evil shadow
When Death Calls - Feel the heat of the flames from the souls of the dying
When Death Calls - You're gonna burn, burn, burn
When Death Calls - Heaven is closer
When Death Calls - I can feel it, gonna take you down

  • @WolfgangVonPoserkila Do you have a life outside trolling black sabbath music videos, or maybe doing something other than having a condescending taste in music to others?

  • @MichaelLaurence90 I don't troll any videos. I'm replying to troll comments on MY video. Just go back to sleep dude and don't even try to get with the program...

  • This song was chosen by my uncle for his funeral in 2005. He said before he died that he liked this song because it made him realize the complexities of life and the "great unknown" of death. As his coffin was being taken to the alter this song was on the speakers. Many of his friends commented on the choice of the music, and rather than ask why they all said that they were amazed and wanted to buy this album as a tribute to his life. Thanks Tony Martin for your contribution to my uncle's life.

  • @WolfgangVonPoserkila Dude you comment is the fucking true,Tony Martin kid ass, period, only Dio ,Hughes and Gillan are better singers than Tony ,but Tony is amazing,Huges range ,tune, alpegios,in few words tony Martin RULES.

fucking sucks srry but he sucks he even cant sing dio or ozzy songs he fucking sucks!!!!

  • ...the intro makes me dream. close your eyes, imagine another world, another planet, another life.

  • wow brian may and black sabbath is a good combination but i wish all the original members were in it :(

  • That's one hell of a solo Mr Brian May.

  • This is my fav. track off Headless Cross. I love the imagery of the lyrics, the riffs are huge as it slowly builds to a bone crushing middle and end. I love the Tony Martin era! Would rather hear him than Ozzy's warbling anyday!

  • Tony Martin is my least favorite of all the Sabbath singers, he isn't that original, but he's serviceable, and when he isn't singing the riffing is amazing. I still own all the Martin-era Sabbath albums and play selected tracks from them occasionally.

  • @llchambers100 I was talking about "After Forever" - Tony didn't write it.

  • @CentraCross Geezer wasn't in the band at this time, and Tony Iommi says in his recent autobiography that Tony Martin wrote all this album's lyrics.

  • @truewarriorgod10000 I'd say Sabbath from Dio forth were Power/Doom Metal. Power Vocalists and Doom guitarist, though Iommi is way too diverse and experimental to be labeled.

If you listen to Geezer's solo stuff you realize who was the really "Heavy" member of Sabbath.
