Maine Eastern Railroad Train #3 draws past Maine Street in Downtown Brunswick as it concludes its trek from Rockland as the last Westbound of the day. Ex-NH EMD FL9 No. 488 leads five art-deco Steel Road Classics through the quiet-zone crossing at restricted speed. The Maine Eastern operates two roundtrips a day from Rockland to Brunswick, with stops in Wiscasset and Bath.

  • Is the Maine eastern railroad a tourist train or commuter train

  • @SALEMFIREDEPT It's a toursit excursion train. Eventually, the Downeaster Amtrak from Boston will end at the station pictured. Maine Eastern also operates freight trains for Dragon Cement, Bath Iron Works, and other customers.

  • @karelfromholland: Hallo Karel, these FL9's were made from 1954 -1960 and only stopped use for revenue just a few years ago. The front or "nose" was first designed for the Model FT in 1939 so perhaps you are correct after all.

  • This video proves that trains in the 1930's were more beautiful than the trains these days ;o)

  • Wow, he didn't have to blow for the crossing?

  • Great Video. This spot seems nice!
