That is an excellent explanation of duende and it is 100% applicable to this animal. Another term (in German) that is somewhat similar and also applicable is funktionslust - a being doing what it was BORN to do.

@Andaluzsecretariat Hi, you made a comment on Secretariat's "duende" dos anos ago :) Thank you... I think you say you are Andaluzian, a devotee of Secretariat. Who better to can say that Big Red has Duende than an someone from Andalucia, Spain. (of course my keyboard doedn't have the accent mark). How was my translation. I took quatro semestres de Espanol, but can't speak it.
