I mean The Strokes first made it big in the UK and first got signed to a British label that recognised them, same applies to The Gossip and Scissor Sisters; they get better recognition and more sales in UK, so do more work over here.

I'll give the US credit for The Shins (My favourite!!), Amulance Ltd, The Killers, Band of Horses, Andrew Bird, Interpol and Kings of Leon BUT you are hardly fucking the UK scene!! Our scene is just on fire and alot of our bands aren't heard over in the states because they don't get out there...it is too big and the tastes are too varied. They stay here and know they get response in Europe.

the walkmen, the strokes, TV on the radio, the shins, the national, clap your hands say yeah, holopaw, Albert hammond jr., the postal serice, INTERPOL, french kicks, the recoys, jonathan fire eater, my morning jacket, band of horses, of montreal, calla, devotchka, elefant, mazarin, spoon, she wants revenge, the hold steady, the killers, the secret machines, KINGS OF LEON, priestess, queens of the stone age, and so many others.

So you should check before talk :D

Kaiser Chiefs, Arctic Monkeys, The Subways, Coldplay, Bloc Party, Elbow, Reverend and THE Makers, The Courteeners, Snow Patrol, Dirty Pretty Things, Razorlight, Kasbian, The Magic Numbers, MIA, Amy Winehouse, Adelle, Duffy, Kate Nash, KT Tunstall and so on and so and so on. British music is on fucking form!! Educate yourself!!
