Absolutely incredible movie, SO raw yet sensitive, remarkably deft portrayal of America in the grip of Cold War paranoia, moral hysteria & sociocultural crisis reflected in this snapshot of a critically-dysfunctional family. What pathos, sexual repression & creative antagonism, setting the stage for the endemic fraud, venality, corruption & decay that has sabotaged our institutions & crippled society, totally subverting our nation's character & betraying its essential principles.
