  • @cordedpoodle -I agreed 100% with you,and i also like the Damned and Captain sensible-Does where the good old days.

  • @pedrofaba Funny how that "Punk" label is so slippery. Yeah their early stuff is more punk, but not in the way kids think of punk now, and their middle stuff is criticized for being "too pop" when it was mostly really great music. Same with the Damned and Captain Sensible, another favorite of mine.

  • @TheBleech Probably because you don't understand the disease. I know 99% of DOCTORS think its a disease, but people with no training and no experience with it have strong counter opinions. Rather I have no sympathy for people with ordinary talents who gain extraordinary fame over extraordinary musicians like the Stranglers who are still somewhat obscure.

  • @WAWELDRAGON I was a fan from the start. This was not my favorite album until recently. Now it is my favorite. Listen to the Timbre and Counterpoint. This Album is really more of a sound SCULPTURE than Aural Sculpture. Stripped down and to the point.

  • @themScreamS ....You read my mind... all those creeps saying how great she was when they abandoned her. ...and you can bet your life Kevin 'Water World' Costner will resurrect his movie career on the back of his eulogy the other day... They should have had Hugh Cornwell up there, telling it how it is! :-)

  • They should play this as a Tribute to Whitney Houston. :)

  • @WAWELDRAGON You're right about them all except Feline. I think it is amongst their best work. My favourite will always be The Raven though.

  • Its a well wierd album as was Meninblack, my verdict is that Rattus was epic and haunting, Raven was clever and majestic, Black and White and Heroes were aggressive and melodic (especially Heroes) Feline was an embarrassment except a couple of tracks, Aural Sculpture listenable but the continuation of the downward trajectory that began with Feline.

  • Brilliant track, only true Stranglers fans know this stuff. Thanks.

  • This was for John Lennon
