  • Jeez, I hate to see all this pansy-ass fashion bullshite. What is the music? I can answer that: A bunch of crap! It was mostly about the looks and the attitude back in Jolly old England, wont it?

  • @mekangus Oh no no no, Robert Smith's hair was ratty in 1982 during the Pornography stage of his career. Go to the pictures of you fansite and click on photos, then click on where it says 1982 and it'll show you.

  • @Jakegothicsnake

Actually, in 1983 Robert Smith's hair had yet to take on the completely ratted out shape he became famous for. His hair was still relatively short and neat.

Yeah, we used to go through the biggest canisters of Aquanet Extra Super Hold. The size of the aerosol can she had was huge, mega huge. Enough to do two people's hair. LOL!

You can't get that sort of thing anymore because CFC bans. Which is good. We didn't do much good for the ozone layer.

  • That blue haired girl Michelle makes me wanna consider getting into the hairstyling business. I can already imagine myself shaving people's heads, dyeing their hair, teasing it, glueing, etc. :)

  • @ajittffcure it and other groups/scenes lead to it but not long after. Goth was full-blown by 85 and drew from the Cure, psych revival (Dr & the Medics!), neo-Prog (Twelth Night/IQ), the Damned and new teen horror movies. Notice how many were Marquee groups...

  • The guy who's getting his hair done by that blue-haired girls sort of has a Robert Smith-esque do.

  • My goodness! It was the great sci-fi writer Michael Moorcock who presented this documentary.

This is a wonderful footage. It is the roots of what later became known as Goth music in a way...
