Einstein, I think, dismisses this minuet as "pretentious"--especially in the trio, all these woodwinds coming and going--all this rare contrapuntal skill. Oh well. Can't help liking it anyway. Someone said once--Haydn always tries NOT to sound too much like a minuet. But Mozart revels in it--a minuet it is, gentlemen. Enjoy!
