The reason he is not that well known might because he likes spending his time making music, rather than being in the media a lot.
A real artist does not want to be famous, a real artist just want to do what he/she loves to do, making music in Akeboshi's example.

According to his biography I studied on at Liverpool, if I remember correctly.
That sure give a celtic like influence to his music.
A little from the West, combined with a litte from the East, makes him a great artist.

i no he's japanese but this song has an irish charateristic to it.. iv heard it in his other songs aswell.. apparently akeboshi studied in england for a while i have a feeling while he was there he may have picked up on some irish music since there are many irish living in england. Its an amazing song all the same :)
