I don't suppose there's any reason to worry about it then. I think the birds prefer the bigger holes anyway, not reasoning out that larger holes make them more vulnerable to predators.

Thankfully no, nor English sparrows. It has been the most sought after box we have by tree and violet green swallows and we've had it for ten years.
