Re-read the section in Joseph Ratzinger's Introduction to Christianity on the Church, specifically its holiness. Also revisit the parable of the weeds, Matthew 13:24-30.

Remember, Jesus chose Judas to be an apostle.
And all the others ran away when he was crucified. (except John aparently came back, and stood at the foot of the cross with his mother).
This is not a perfect Church, but it *is* Christ's. From a theological/eschatological standpoint she is perfect....but on the ground we can here the crow of the rooster as well as the pealing of the bells.

I know it's hard not to be discouraged - but in history it's always been the same: only personal holiness, saints, have been the catalysts for change, not political parties, not committees, not trials :) So...be a saint :) I know it's not easy!! They don't have the manhood to defend their beautiful bride the Church! It is time some of them grow a pair!
Up here in Canada we have a scandal with the charity Development & Peace.(a charity run by the Canadian Bishops aka CCCB) They have been caught partnering with groups that support abortion on charitable projects.
The CCCB did an investigation on some of the charges. Total white wash & I am totally disgusted by the whole thing. Hopefully some individual Bishops will stand up & stop them

Dude ....forget the politics of the church .... all it does ... it sucks you into the system of things ... makes you forget God's true purpose .... Study the Bible the true answer for your question is in there ... and you will be much happier ....... take from a person who felt like JOB the last 2 years.
