Excellent! If you are not satisfied with Pat's first solo, then wait for the other one...
Steve has a nice 2 min. part between the two.
The intro had to be cut out because of the time limitation.
1992 - Secret Story Tour
Enjoy!

  • What's the difference between a rock guitarist and a jazz guitarist?

  • Wonderful performance! Pat Metheny 's sound is beautiful. Sweet and Painful too!! The "outro " is little bit funny 9:11 it reminds me a Nirvana song... hm.. the 90's ... maybe the Nevermind had an effect on him.. but who knows ... :)))

  • I am a Big Pat Methany fan and Steve Rodby is one of my Bass Heros! Awesome to hear Steve and Pat play together like this! Love the Solos! Awesome stuff here! Very enjoyable, indeed!!!

  • @FreindlyRanger and the jazz guitarist play thousands of chords for 3 people

  • @loksinsan I totally agree with you brother.I miss the old school players like Martino,Benson,Wes,Johhny Smith,etc..There was a certain magic, and as you say, intensity and energy, and i would add, a certain melodic approach that seems to be terribly lacking in new school guys. And I also agree with you that players like Bireli,Luc, Andreas O'berg etc, seem to be the only guys around that have that old school magic.Dam those gypsy guys.Django created a lineage of guitar monsters

  • Very nice..But doesn't knock me out in the way Wes or Pat Martino do when they solo over this tune..I don't know what it is with the "new breed" of jazz guitar players.,and when i say new breed,i mean post 1990's.They just don't seem to have the same intensity and give me goose bumps when they play. The exceptions are the gypsy guys like Bireli Lagrene,Sylvain Luc and others. It's hard to go back and listen to people like metheny, rosenwinkle etc..They all suddenly sound boring in comparison

  • @gabrielejazz hi gab, could you send me your trascribrion? thanks so much

  • @FreindlyRanger gaaaaaaaaaaaaaan : WRONG

  • @geoffreyefloyd I AGREE :-)

  • @gabrielejazz You'd learn more if you transcribed if yourself.
