Marines with 2/4 Echo need your help

Dear Patriot,

On November 10, 1775, the Continental Congress commissioned Samuel Nicholas to raise two Battalions of Marines. That very day, Nicholas set up shop in Tun Tavern, a "brew house" in Philadelphia . He appointed Robert Mullan, then the proprietor of the tavern, to the job of chief Marine Recruiter, serving of course, from his place of business at Tun Tavern. Prospective recruits flocked to the tavern, lured by (1) cold beer and (2) the opportunity to serve in the new Corps of Marines. The U.S. Marine Corps was indeed born in Tun Tavern. Needless to say, both the Marine Corps and the tavern thrived during this new relationship.
Like the Marine Corps Tun Tavern still lives today and, Tun Tavern beer is still readily available throughout the Philadelphia area. The Marine Corps birthday will now and forever fall on the 10th of November.
For generations Marines have celebrated the Marine Corps birthday. Marines from all over the country and world celebrate this day with a ball. Over the years Marine Corps balls seem to become more and more expensive and money is asked to come out of the individual Marines pockets to pay for this event. Marine Corps Balls can cost as much as $70,000 which makes the average cost $70.00 per ticker. Marines are asking for any donation to help bring down the cost of tickets. Your donation, no matter how big or how small is greatly appreciated by 2nd battalion 4th Marines Echo Co. and the Marines who serve for it. Keep in mind that all donations are tax deducible and will help the Marines and there family go to the ball free of charge.
