In my very humble and limited knowledge of Scripture - God is love. God is good. God did not create hatred or evil - when he created love, however, he also created the freedom to accept it or reject it. Hatred, therefore is the "absence" of love and evil the absence of goodness. The "Light" does not cause "Darkness" - it is darkness that causes itself to exist by blocking out the light.

Goodness is incomplete without Evil. You cannot know what is good unless you don't know whats evil. Hence to know whats good, evil has to exist.

Ravi, I love him, but I have to disagree with him here. God not only allows evil but created evil. as the Bible says so in Is 45:7, Lam 3:37-38 as a couple of examples and God works all things Rom 8:28, Eph 1:11 says.

Ravi is talking about free will to love but natural man loves sin and therefore has free will to sin as John 3:19-20. But man does not have free will to submit to God Rom 8:7, and The only way man can love God is if God enabled him to do so John 6:6

0:45: Confused as to how "love" is an "ethic", ethics having to do with concepts of right and wrong. A factor in ethics, but not sure what he means by love being an "ethic". Then at 0:51 he declares it is the "supreme" ethic. So...now I really don't know what he's talking about.

0:57: "You can't have love without the freedom to not love." Errr...so love is a choice? We freely choose who we love, and when we don't love somebody or something this is a choice? Again, his ideas sound unclear.
