This the sound of the 5.4 v8 or the 7.0ltr RSW engine ?.

Neither actually. The problem with the 7L (and the 6.3) is the huge amount of work you have to do to the engine block to machine it out. For the 6.3 and 7, you need to bore out the block to take larger cylinder liners. For the 7, you need to take a lot of metal out of the lower part of the block to allow for the longer stroke crank.
Both mods cannot be undone, and there are no new blocks from the factory. So its a one-shot change.

On mine, we put in thinner liners -- 130thou overbore within the standard block. So its now 5.7 iitre or so. More importantly, it has lightweight carillo conrods etc, so it happily revs to well over 7k in safety.
It has the full bigbore exhaust all the way from the headers to the back, 2.5" piping. Has the standard centre cruciform crossover behind the gearbox, and then no mufflers in the rear pipes.

(plus lots of other stuff - msd ignition, 8 x 50mm webers, big bore intake, electric race water pump system, etc)

That's a fair amount mods & sounds great 5/5.

Thanks - engine needed rebuilding anyway because of failure of the rubber O rings around the cylinder liners. So just took the opportunity to update it while it was in pieces :-)
