Orca Divers from Chortlon, Manchester took a trip down to Cornwall with the sole purpose of snorkelling with the visiting Basking Sharks. We weren't disappointed! It's fair to say we had extremely close encounters all day long. We emerged from the water feeling very privileged. They are such huge, graceful and incredible sharks; quite a sight to behold.

If you'd like to take this trip, contact Charlie Hood www.charleshood.com who is the boat skipper and also one of the world's best underwater photographers!

  • i was here a few days ago.

Not joking i would be so scared if i saw that in the water even if they are harmless

  • @OceansElwell Erm... we were in the water with them for 4 hours. Not much manly artefacts left on any man who needs to enforce 'manly' status by doing that in skins. Also, I did it in a wetsuit which makes me marginally more manly. ;)

  • put a whale shark next to one of the baskers, see who's is bigger. mouthwise

there are a few animals I wish to experience first-hand, these are definitely one of them. awesome. thanks

  • snorkeling in drysuits?? thats not manly.

  • Love it with the bigmouth!
