Demo of the new Acer Aspire Revo 3610 using Boxee Flash app and SMB share of 720p H.264 files
Demo HD-Nation and SMB shares inside Boxee.
Did not test Hulu INSIDE Boxee, as it plays OK...with few random skips. That is because Boxee does not yet support GPU acceleration and has an older Flash 10.22 built in. Will post a demo soon.

Part 1- GPU acceleration with 720p H.264 MKV files
Part 2- Flash acceleration with Hulu Desktop, Hulu IE and Hulu HD

Stop by my blog for a full write up on the Acer Revo 3610!

  • Have you tried running iTunes movies on this machine? I heard this machine doesn't play them very well. I'm very interested in this computer, but only if iTunes movies can play smoothly on it....thanks!

  • @wayner5102421 from what I understand, the iTunes Movie player does not support GPU acceleration, so lower power CPU machines like the Atom/Ion s will not be able to play the video smoothly. SInce the CPU will have to do all the work a higher 2.66 ghz dual or quad core will be needed.

  • hey have you thought about getting the broadcom crystal hd pci-e card. I heard it decodes very well.

I just got a revo 1600 overclock with 3gb of ram. Boxee works great on win 7 32. I'm even running vuse and winamp remote in the background. I love this machine

  • As on my other video comment:

No, there is no need to open the 3610 and install more ram or change the video card. Works flawlessly.

The 1600 does have the limited Ion LE card and DX10, and a single core. So, it can lag at full screen on HD or Flash content. Just the limitation of the hardware on that unit. Upgrades may be the only way to get it to play smoothly.

  • Cant wait to get one!

  • YOu'll luv it!

  • This box does not play bluray content flawless, not to mention 3d content.

talking about AV, a western digital device does the same thing the revo does - less money.

it´s a good download client... but that´s it.

  • @wayner5102421 I've got a acer revo 3610 from BestBuy, 500GB HDD, 4 GB RAM, totally stock, some junk software removed, WIN 7. I have rented a few itunes movies and they all play seamlessly. Movies are never choppy or slow, and I have it hooked up 720p to my flatscreen tv, fullscreen. I only notice that once in a while certain programs will freeze for half a minute when you click something, but thats not movies.
