Here is a slice of early 1970s "politically correct" multiculturalism taken to its extreme! It's a segment from THE MOST IMPORTANT PERSON series of shorts titled "I'm the Only Me!" This one has everything: a diverse group of kids (with one of each ethnic and racial background), even including a little handicapped boy, all singing to Hairy the monster to reassure him that it's OK to be "different!" These segments would air during commercial breaks (notably in Chicago on channel 32) in the 1970s and early 80s during childrens programming.
