No no no, you are think of he story of Paris IV also known as the Paris BS story. Its a story people get when they to get information on Johnson's past. Its actually fake and has been nicknamed the Paris BS file, it was made to hide his involvement in the Orion or Spartan 1 projects.

In halo 3, you can actually get johnson infected by the flood due to a double johnson glitch my friend found out.
Its funny when one johnson is dying while one is still moving around . Even the double attacks sparks and stuff,,,

He never got infected.
He got "passed up" by the flood.
I read it from the books, something about plasma grenades almost killing him, but didn't, and he had high radiation levels or something like that.
