I watch a lot of videos and a lot of people have issues getting multi-channel to work with EzDrummer, and are then not too sure what to do once they get it.

The audio quality is crap, I recorded with my headphone mic.

I hope this helps someone set their VST/RTAS up.

*EzDrummer loaded slowly because, and I did not realise this, but my virus scanner was scanning and had been for about 20 minutes.

  • what's the point of the Aux tracks? just route straight to audio

  • @nofx1609

Gets in the habit of bouncing to audio. Helped me when I was learning.

  • hi great vid. what sound care do you use ? I have an omega lexicon... I cant record from the midi channel on to the audio... I have to mixdown the midi into an audio file, this really shits up my signal and makes it really small and not as loud as on the midi channel. Cant figure out why ... I use cubase 5.5

  • @amirhe6

Not too sure about cubase, but try gaining the final signal by 50% (or however much is needed).

    My motherboard has onboard soundcard.

  • All you need to do is create the Audio tracks and route the output of EZ Drummer to these tracks. Ex EZ Drummer 2L for the kick, etc. No need to set up Aux tracks AND Audio tracks.

  • You do if you want to bounce Drumkit from Hell down with all 5 toms. The EzMixer does not have enough outputs to support all the channels of the kit. Unless you are happy with 5 toms condensed into two audio tracks.

  • paraben!! muito bom o seu tutorial aprendi muito abraços.

  • @chuckawobbly Ok I found that cubase 5.5 supports recording midi to an audio channel same like the aux channels in pro tools.

I just had to define more outputs in the device manager (F4) and send each out

channel of the ezdrummer to the input of the audio.

I think its new to cubase!!! at least it wasnt in SX ;)

So now the signal has more gain.

How much DB do u add to each channel on the EZDRUMMER MIXER?

  • Nice. Which plugins do you recommend for EZDrummer to enhance the grooves, what do you think of Izotope Ozone?

  • Not sure if I mentioned it in the video, but I disable and hide the original aux and the stereo instrument track, it uses CPU and ezdrummer isnt exactly...easy on cpu shace, especially since when I use it, I am already stretched for cpu space in large sessions.

If however, I have made a mistake, I can always revert to the midi file, make any edits, and bounce down again. I do spent some time on them before I do bounce down.
