  • They make us think that if we don't pay taxes we will face legal charges. If everyone does it at the same time, they won't have the resources to enforce it. NO TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION.

  • @sidecar771 Sure, congress could try to bring back the draft, but it would never get enough votes to pass the house, not with the huge anti-war and anti-government sentiment with the American people today.

    Eminent Domain needs to be abolished, because it's a disgraceful violation of property rights. Sure, the government rapes up in many ways, but that doesn't mean it's right, or that we should bend over and willingly accept it like a sheep.

    The govt should fear the people, not the reverse.

  • @BRYAN351 Do you honestly believe congress could not introduce the draft if it chose to? Taxation is absolutely within the authority of the government. George Bushs' consortium used emminint domain to appropriate private property to a different private entity,(Texas Rangers) netting himself millions in the process. Rights you imagine you have do not exist. The USA is a society where the law is supreme, and you will obey or else. It has always been thus.

  • @sidecar771 now you're simply making emotional arguments, without any basis in logic. Yes, theft CAN be made legal by a government. All they do is call it something else, such as "taxation", "asset seizure" (as with drug dealers), etc. The Nazis stole the assets of Jews in 1930's/40's Germany. Was that legal? Yes, according to Nazi laws.

    America does NOT have a military draft. It's an all volunteer force. Hellooooo. They only can force you to go to war if you join the military.

  • @BRYAN351 Theft cannot be legal.In the USA the federal government has the constitutional authority to promote the general welfare however congress sees fit. You have responsibilities as a citizen up to. and including. imperilling your life to defend the country. Yes, that's right, the government has the right to send you to war and if you refuse to go it may imprison or even execute you. This has always been true. Be a citizen.

  • @sidecar771 you just contradicted yourself. How can the GENERAL welfare apply to just one person or group?? "General" means EVERYONE. Seizing one person's wealth and giving it to another person does nothing to promote the "general" welfare. It helps one person at the expense of another.

    If a burglar robs your house, does that support the general welfare? No. It supports the burglar, or whoever receives stolen money from the burglar. Unapportioned taxes are nothing more than legalized theft.

Welfare was meant as "The health, happiness, and fortunes of a person or group" Poverty is by definition a condition contrary to this and therein lies the right of thr federal government to address gross inequalities in the country. End of story!

  • @sidecar771 so which part grants permission to the government to seize part of my wealth, and then give it to someone else? "Promote the general welfare? Nope. The term "welfare" didn't mean socialist entitlement programs back then, as some erroneously define that word today. That's a recent co-opting of the word by socialists.
