What Happens When Mitsubishi's i-MiEV Runs Out of Its Battery?
This is a challenge experiment by "Kumasan," an i-MiEV owner in Japan. Talking of battery-driven electric cars, "range anxiety" is always in the centre of dixcussion. Thus, Kumasan himself tested his car's dead battery.
To tell the battery fall-out to the driver, i-MiEV shows a signal of low battery on its display. This signal is shaped like a slowly-walking tortoise, so the drivers call it "tortoise mark."
Fortunately, Kumasan's i-MiEV was able to travel for about 10km after the tortoise mark appeared in the cockpit. But it depends on various conditions, so don't think everybody can run 10km!!!
what happens when a gas car runs low, it stops dead ? You have to import more from Saudi , the USA now imports about 50% of the OIL burned daily at a cost of $1 Billion a day.

The tortoise mode looks like a useful feature. I require 6 hours to charge my car. How much time is required when using your Quick Charge station?
