so i just did this today with my ROTC unit ... of course using paintballs... it was impossible to really enter in a room without someone getting killed...

Not true. First, someone would have to snatch the grenade throw. It shows that you are not in a position, just talk rubbish.

Umm, how'd you mean throwing a grenade will kill you? First off, considering if it was in a hall, wouldn't it matter about the impact of the grenade's explosion? Every grenade is different. Anyways, the average grenade has 4 seconds before it explodes... so lets build up a mental mind map of this scenario:

0sec - safety pin discharge

1sec - arm build up

2sec - travel time whilst thrown

3sec - enemy team reacts to the grenade

4sec - explosion

hardly anytime to pick the grenade up!

Actually yes, grenades are perfect for hallways if you cook them and it cannot hit you from your position (even if your crouching or prone for the explosion).
