  • Hi drkwolf311,

You should add more to the tags as to indicate this song covers crispian st. peters's the pied piper. It would be cool!

BTW, thanks for posting Del Shannon's version of this song. Its been about 15 years ago I last heard this version when I lost my tape cassette of him.

  • I saw Del Shannon do a gig at the Fresno Fair's Paul Paul Amphitheater on October 17, 1982 (my 23rd birthday), performing some of his greatest hits, (including his 1961 signature hit, "Runaway". He was one of the featured stars (along with The Coasters and Freddie "Boom-Boom" Cannon) at the Dick Clark Rock-N-Roll Revue (hosted by Dick Clark) This is a very good cover and just as good as Crispian St. Peter's original. R.I.P. Del Shannon(1934-1990) and Crispian St. Peters(1939-2010).
  • i don't think this is so rare , i remember hearing it alot

  • outstanding! great post! thanks!

  • ponies brought me here.

    i regret nothing

  • you sure its him?

  • @mordrid84 Artie Kornfeld wrote this. Artie is the Godfather of Woodstock '69.I personally worked with Artie in the '80s.Great Guy.

  • I listened to this while coloring a picture that I drew of DC comic's Pied Piper.

  • awsome,awsome,awsome

  • @MrHawkeye104 it does sound like "Runaway", though vaguely, but Del Shannon's other hit, "Handy Man", is very similar in lyrics to Crispian's "Pied Piper."

  • @mordrid84 the changing times are the originals and the band members steve duboff and artie kornfield wrote the song.
