I have watched all of the original series of the Melencoly of Susumiya Haruhi, thank you and while catchy, I care less for the Hare Hare Yukai than I would for real performers such as Hinoi. As for the tribute?, its less a tribute than more of a single move show at parts of the dance.
When I said it was fan-service, I meant no disrespect to the performers or the anime in General, its just they use a similar move to the start of the Hare Hare Yukai, thats all.
