Here's my black/red vampires standard deck. This deck was inspired by Samuel Blitch's TCQ Atlanta 1st place finish deck. This deck combines the speed of aggro, with the finesse of control. Lots of 1 and 2 drops, good for early/mid pressure. And a recursion sac mechanic for mid/late game finish.

Deck
4x Bloodghast
4x Gatekeeper of Malakir
4x Kalastria Highborn
4x Pulse Tracker
4x Vampire Lacerator
4x Viscera Seer

2x Arc Trail
2x Burst Lightning
3x Dark Tutelage
4x Lightning Bolt
2x Mark of Mutiny

4x Blackcleave Cliffs
4x Dragonskull Summit
4x Lavaclaw Reaches
7x Swamp
4x Verdant Catacombs

Sideboard
1x Arc Trail
3x Demon of Death's Gate
4x Doom Blade
4x Memoricide
3x Vampire Hexmage

  • why would you have to fetch if you only have 1 type of basic lands? (swamp)

I know lots of players doing that, (putting fetch lands even those who are using mono color deck) been playing for 3 months and still dont know why,

and whats the significance of playing it with those fetch,.. xD

  • @olegnabunyi 2 reasons mainly. to 'thin' the deck and to have more landfall triggers for the bloodghasts

  • @botmaster5 agree on the landfall for bloodghast,.. but what ydo you mean to THIN? is it really better than just putting basic land?

  • @olegnabunyi 'thinning' a deck is when you can eliminate cards in the deck so you have a better chance of top decking a more useful spell. so a fetch land is a 2 for 1 land draw, because you are playing both the fetch, and the land it fetches. therefore, by playing with fetch lands you thin the deck out of excess land draws.

  • May I noe how do you get those kind of swamps

  • @PokeTwilight those are just regular zendikar swamps

  • what's the difference about this deck and this one, (what deck is the best for u): Creatures [31] 1 Bloodlord of Vaasgoth 3 Captivating Vampire 3 Vampire Nocturnus 4 Bloodghast 4 Bloodline Keeper 4 Gatekeeper of Malakir 4 Guul Draz Vampire 4 Kalastria Highborn 4 Vampire Nighthawk Instants [7] 3 Go for the Throat 4 Doom Blade Lands [22] 22 Swamp 1 Emrakul, the Aeons Torn 2 Malakir Bloodwitch 2 Vampire Hexmage 3 Dismember 3 Duress 1 Memoricide 2 Ratchet Bomb 1 Relic of Progenitus
  • @olegnabunyi not sure if anyone mentioned this, but having a fetch land guarantees that you can get a land every turn if you want or need it

  • There's some decent vamps in the innistrad block. But damn this is a sick deck! I'll never hit these cards in boosters and I have no one to trade with :(

  • I have an updated version on my channel

  • I have a B/R Vampire Deck. Vampire Nighthawk is a very good card that should be in any vampire deck. There's a lot more vampire cards now. Lord of Lineage is the one I'm gonna use for my lord in my deck. good idea or no?

  • @atrattlesnake he should have some lifelink on the deck though, something like vampire nighthawk.

  • @atrattlesnake you kiding? its one of the best cards in the deck...... card advantage is one of the most important things in magic =O

  • Hey i play a similar deck and just a suggestion...bloodthrone vampire is a 2 drop and it gets +2/+2 when you sac a creature works well with bloodghast but just a suggestion

  • @botmaster5 I see, I see, now I get it xD

    thanks a lot :)
