Now this is my FAVORITE Cure song!! From the lyrics to the music!! BRILLIANT!!!!
Such talent! What has happened to music today? No one can think for themselves or take the time to be creative anymore.
"The holding up on bended knees
The addiction of duplicities
As bit by bit it starts the need
To just let go
My party piece"

This is a track which always makes me feel better when relationships end, just because it has that element of saying 'this is always how it is' and it reminds me that rarely is anything ever forever so don't get too down when something ends. Robert's voice is amazing in this track, the emotion in his voice is what makes this track so good. That said, the lyrics really stand up well on the cover available on the 'Perfect as cats' cure cover album, a GREAT album.

I like this performance better than old ones, the pace is an improvement in my opinion. The focus has changed for sure, but I don't think it's worse at all. The vocals sound very similar to older versions, so I'm unsure what you mean with "roberts vocals lack the passion he once had".
Personally, I prefer this performance to any others I've found.

This song digs so deep into my heart and soul because it is so personal for me. I too was left with babies and everything from a love i thought would last forever. This song helped me get through that truly tough time and ironically enough this happened to me not long after this album was released. It was like Robert knew what was coming for me. weird i know. but just how i feel. i love the cure and Robert for 24 years now and i always will. They truly are they greatest band to have ever been!
