Big River Blues played by Big Road Blues

Rick Eisenberg--lead vocal, finger-picked guitar; Al Podber--harmony vocal, flat-picked guitar; Myriam Valle--mandolin. This was an early rendition of our version, and we sang nearly every possible permutation of Big, Deep, River and Water, not always at the same time. The Delmore Brothers' original was thankfully more consistent. Alton Delmore wrote the song as "I've Got the Big River Blues." The version on our CD, "Crossroots," includes Ken Ficara on harmonica and homage to Rabon Delmore's original guitar work as well as Doc Watson's arrangement. Hear an excerpt on bigroadbluesband.com.
