2001 Historical Romantic Drama from Australian director Gillian Armstrong adapted from Sebastian Faulks's book and screenplay by Jeremy Brock, starring Cate Blanchett, Billy Crudup. A young Scottish woman joins the French Resistance during World War II to rescue her Royal Air Force boyfriend and ends up having to choose between finding her lost love and taking a stand when she meets a local farmer (Michael Gambon) and his son (Billy Crudup), a leader in the resistance who's harboring two Jewish children.
