The launch of space shuttle Atlantis on May 11, 2009 as video-taped from the viewing area adjacent to the Apollo/Saturn Center on the western shore of Banana Creek at the Kennedy Space Center, Cape Canaveral Florida. This location is approx. 3.75 miles from the launch pad (SLC-39A). Although mine is a purely amateur effort in documenting this amazing event, you can still get a sense of the patriotic and enthusiastic atmosphere represented by the attending crowd.
This mission is the last servicing mission for the Hubble Space Telescope and as such, has the designation SM4.

  • LOL no thanks!

  • sweet

  • I was at Parrish Park in Titusville and saw this launch. It was the first time I'd ever seen a launch in person. I was wondering, do you have to have special clearance to see the launch from where you were filming?

  • why not just ride it :D

  • soooo great
