Ok so here's my demo of the Eleven Rack and "Mesa Road King" preset running through an EV-SXA250. I am posting this as requested by some people so they could hear how it sounds in comparison to my actual Road King tone which many said was colored by the power section of the Road King amp in my other video where I used the Road King to amplify my Eleven Rack...

Lost yet? LOL :)

Anyway as you'll hear, the EV-SXA250 while it has more bass dialed in, you can definitely hear the same overall tone between the old video and this one.

Hope you enjoy and as always thanks for watching!

  • I really need your help please. You posted on a forum that you can use the eleven rack with logic and re-amp. Can you please tell me hoe to do this? I know that input 1 is dry and that 3 is wet, but how do i re-amp?

  • @domdauphin Hey brother - sorry I haven't been able to check my page in a while - did you ever find an answer to this? Send me a message message here and lemme know and I'll see if I can help.

  • @domdauphin Yeah got it thanks!!!

  • @domdauphin Whew! Awesome thanks :-)

  • Excellent tone, playing and demo and the "Hulk Green" JP6 is just killer - is it a custom color - I can't seem to find it on the MM website as a standard choice?

  • @zaiberman Thanks brother! :) Yeah they call that color the "Dargie Delight II" and refer to it as Apple Caramel because it changes color in the light from green to caramel - especially if you take a picture of it with a flash. It's almost all gold in that case. I LOVE the color. It was a custom finish they ran for a month at one point, but the 2nd time they've run this limited green though the first one was a little different color wise but basically the same.

  • @domdauphin I would highly recommend it for that intended purpose over any other power amp / cab setup if that's the setup you are wanting. I've used the Road King as the power amp and it sounded great through the port city, and used a mesa 50/50 tube power amp and it sounded awful. My friend uses a solid state power amp with his Eleven Rack though the model escapes me right now but he SWEARS it's slays his Roadster rig so there's that camp too... OH its a Rocktron Velocity 300 I believe...

  • @vaisatchatrucci So if I want the best sound possible and don't really care about monitoring and don't mind paying a bit more, would you recommend a port city 2x12 with power amp over the EV's?

Tube power amp and SS? Have you tried any!?

  • @domdauphin I wouldn't say "preferred" really. If I had an amp & cab OR power amp & cab set up I would prefer the Port City all day long over any other cab but in terms of powered monitors I prefer (this price range) the EV because no matter where I play, my monitored tone is going to be exactly the same every time I play live and has been. A cab mic'd up at different venues, monitors & sound guys (mostly sub-par) has never sounded (to ME) on stage as consistently great as the 11R thru the EV.

  • Just saw a post from you on the eleven rack forum. You had a port city 2x12 cab with the 11r? That was my first choice with a power amp. You preferred the EV-SXA250?
